Ottawa County Water Quality Forum

On November 29, Melanie Manion, the Natural Resources Management Supervisor at Ottawa County Parks, presented at the 12th annual Ottawa County Water Quality Forum. That’s right, the effects of HWA can and will impact water quality in Michigan because hemlocks trees are one of the only native evergreens in the southern lower pennisula. The hemlock needles effect thermoregulation by keeping water temperatures warmer in the winter and cooler in the summer.
